Tip

Prepare concrete examples

Use the Situation, Action, Result structure to describe a difficult customer or an improvement you proposed.

Vague phrases ("I'm patient", "I like helping") say little about you, whether in your CV or in any conversation with recruiters. A real situation you resolved, told briefly, says more.

Use Situation, Action, Result: the context, what you personally did (not the team) and the concrete effect. Prepare three stories: a difficult customer, a mistake you fixed and an improvement you proposed.

Checklist

  • Situation: who the customer was and what went wrong.
  • Action: the steps you took and the decisions you made.
  • Result: time saved, customer retained, process changed.
  • Rehearse out loud, in German too and, if the role asks for English, in English.
